The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This post is more of a recommendation than a review.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is my favourite book, and if you haven't read it, i think you should!

I'm not much of a reader - i tend to get easily distracted.
I'm a massive fan of the Harry Potter books, and read them quite easily, but since then i've struggled to find a book that holds my attention.

It surprised me that i couldn't stop reading, as it's not one of those books thats gripping and constantly has you on the edge of your seat, its a very simple read. Very different to the Harry Potter books!
It's written by Stephen Chbosky, an american novelist, screenwriter and film director.
It's set in the early 90's, and the book follows a teenager named Charlie. Charlie narrates, and one of the main reasons i love this book so much as that it's actually in letters, from Charlie, to an unknown recipent. It made me feel like i was the one that was receiving the letters which i think is why i felt so involved in the story.

Charlie is shy, intelligant, and very socially awkward, he is a wallflower.

I don't want to explain any of the story to you, i think if you haven't already, you should give it a read, and let me know what you think!
If you have read it, leave a comment and tell me what you thought of the story!

I'm going to end this post with my favourite quote from the book.

"I know these will all be stories some day, and our pictures will become old photographs. We all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now, these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here, and i am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive. And you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song, and that drive with the people who you love most in this world. And in this moment, i swear, we are infinite."
