Dove Haircare

I have such dry, damaged hair. During my early teenage years i bleached it, and i REALLY regret it.
For a while i've been using Dove Haircare products, and it's made a tremendous difference to my hair, it's now hydrated, and much softer and shinier.

I use the Daily Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. (which i try not to use daily, even though it says its suitable for daily use.)

The Regenerating mask i use once a week, for 15 minutes, to give my hair an extra boost of moisture, shine and care. It's so thick and nourishing and you can feel the wonders it's doing!
The dry oil i apply to the ends of my damp hair just after i wash it.
All of them have a really nice smell, nothing overpowering, just a nice, fresh clean scent.

Dove is so reasonably priced for the quality of their products and i really enjoy using them.

I try to have my hair trimmed as often as i can to avoid split ends. I recently had a shorter bob and bangs cut in, and i love it!

At the moment the Dove hair care range is doing a fab job at keeping my hair hydrated and shiny, it looks less damaged and i love how it feels, and now i have a new style, and colour.. I'm planning on looking after it, keeping it in good condition, and staying WELL AWAY from bleach!!

What are some of your haircare products you wouldn't be able to live without?

Jefferson the Wheelchair

For ages i refused to use a wheelchair as i saw it as a restriction, but after almost 2 years of being stuck at home because of POTS, i realised that a wheelchair would be anything but a restriction, in comparison to my life at the moment, it's freedom.

I don't want to get to the stage where i depend on the wheelchair, because i can walk, just not very far at the moment, not without fainting anyway. And i have no idea how long this condition will affect me as much as it does. I'd love to go back to work, and i'd love to socialise with my friends more. But on bad days i can't even get out of bed, on good days, i could get out for about an hour before i'd have to go home because i was feeling unwell.
Now i have a wheelchair, i can go out and not have to constantly worry about how dizzy i feel, and where the next place to have a seat is.

I do get quite a lot of judgement, as i will often get up out of the chair to make sure i get a chance to walk when i can, and i get some funny looks from people, probably thinking.. 'she can walk? why is she in a wheelchair if she can walk?'

But all the time I'm struggling, it's such a nice feeling knowing i don't have to miss out on family outings, and other opportunities, because i'll have Jefferson the wheelchair.
Yes.. I named my wheelchair, how sad! I wanted a personal connection to it, as silly as it sounds. As its something that scares me, it makes me realised how much my life has changed over the past few years..
But i'm keeping positive, theres so many people out there worse off than i am, and i count myself lucky i have amazing support from family and friends. (and now Jefferson!)

An Evening on the Beach!

On Saturday evening, me and my family went for a walk along Hastings beach, it was so lovely to get out for the evening, as i don't get to do it often. But since getting my wheelchair it's abled me to do and see much more, it's so lovely to go out, even if it is only for a few hours.. It helps me feel like a 'normal' 21 year old!

It was Loki and Luna's first outing on the beach, and i think they loved it! Even though they aren't a fan of water.. They don't get out the village often so it was really nice for them too!

The beach is such a lovely place to just sit and do nothing, the surroundings and sounds are so wonderful, and i could spend hours there!
We ate fish and chips, also donuts and just spent time together as a family.
I couldn't of asked for a better evening.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Moisturizer

I received the travel sized Philosophy Refreshing & Refining Moisturizer in my May Glossybox. The full size is worth £35.50.
It didn't do a bad job at all, for some it may be a perfect, ideal moisturiser, but i've found moisturisers that are better for my skin personally, thats worth less money.

I have combination skin, an oily t-zone, with a very dry nose and cheeks.
This moisturiser is designed to give you refined texture and pores, provide you with all day hydration, and lastly, leave you with a continuous healthy colour and glow.

Its a great moisturiser, a light, fluffy cream that kept my skin hydrated, but unfortunately not hydrated enough for the dry patches on my nose.
However, i have seen a a reduction in fine lines, and also my pore size, and my skin was left glowy, so i'd definitely use this moisturiser again, providing that my nose isn't as dry as it has been recently.. The dry patches on my cheeks seemed to disappear, and it looked smoother and softer.

I really loved how quickly this cream sunk into my skin, it left no residue and its perfect to use as a makeup base.

This is just my personal opinion, there are so many benefits to using this cream, and I've only been using it for around a month. Its brilliant for refining pores, and its a very refreshing moisturiser to use, just like it claims.
I'm not quite sure why it didn't work for my very dry nose, as i've heard nothing but wonderful things about this, but for now ill be trying out the next gel moisturiser that i also received in my May Glossybox.

Keep posted to hear what i think about the Etre Belle Aloe Vera Moisturising Gel!

Halo Facial Wipes

I mentioned briefly a previous post that these came in really handy while I was staying overnight in hospital last weekend, I received them in my Festival Glossybox and i'm definitely going to get some more.

I hate going to bed after a long day, feeling so tired and knowing I have to take my makeup off. Before I got POTS, I used to enjoy a night out with friends, I'd come home and I'd always think to myself 'one nights sleep wearing a full face of makeup can't hurt, can it?'
I'd always wake up the next morning regretting not taking my makeup off. My skin would look clogged, I'd feel gross and dirty.
So now, no matter how tired I am, I always take off my makeup, wether it's with a wipe, or a cleanser.
I'll always try to use a cleanser and take my makeup off thoroughly, but some nights I really don't have the energy, I just want to climb into bed, get cosy and head to dreamland. So a facial wipe is the perfect solution.

As soon as I received them I was on the fence about using them, as most makeup wipes will leave me with red blotchy skin, as my skin is sensitive. These are suitable for sensitive skin, and are fragrance free.
They leave my skin, and eyes, looking really clean and fresh. I don't feel guilty about using them to clean my face, if I really have to!

I'll be keeping a pack of these in my handbag wherever I go, I wish I was going to a festival this summer, but I won't be able to.. But I'll be taking these to town.. to the beach.. everywhere!

Missguided Haul & New Hair!

Cropped Jumper: Missguided
Skirt: Missguided
Shoes: Choice

I love this outfit, but i have to admit, the day i wore this was way too hot to be wearing a jumper!
Nevertheless, the cropped jumper and check skirt is such a cute pairing and they go perfectly together, just maybe on a cooler day!

I've also had my hair cut! I fancied a change, and needed a pick me up and a pamper, and it's definitely lifted my mood :)

I'm so used to being blonde, i was blonde as a kid, and most of my teenage years, and i'm naturally quite fair. So it's taking time to get used to, especially as i have a short bob and bangs now too!

It's definitely a nice change, although i've just noticed my image doesn't match my blog banner anymore!! Uh oh :)

What do you think?
Hope everyone is having a lovely week! x

Dr Organic Rose Otto Eye Serum

I bought this eye serum as a mistake, but it turned out to be one of the best mistakes i've made!
Holland & Barrett describe Bioactive Organic Rose Otto oil as one of natures most potent tonics for delicate ageing skin.

Now you're probably thinking, ageing skin?! Hollie you're 21 years old you don't need ageing products.. Nope, not at the moment, but i have very heavy eyes with fragile skin, and i find this is the perfect eye serum to smooth out fine lines, soften the area and really hydrate my skin!

It's a really nice consistancy, i don't like anything too heavy, as it leaves my eyes feeling super oily and greasy, but anything too liquidy (if that's even a word) doesn't do the trick, and isn't heavy enough. I wanted something that was the perfect in-between, something that i know is doing a good job. And this has made such a dramatic difference to my eyes, it doesn't do a great deal for my dark circles, but i apply this in the evening before i go to bed and i wake up with really hydrated eyes.

It's lasted a really long time, as you don't need a lot, yet it still does the job. I've had no problem using this even with sensitive skin. It has a pleasant scent to it and in all honesty i can't fault this eye serum.

it was £10.29 from Holland & Barrett, it's actually one of the cheapest eye serums i've tried, yet it does a better job.

Have you tried any of Dr Organic's products? This is the first i've tried but i'll definitely be repurchasing and looking out for different products to try!

Glossybox Festival Edition

A few weeks ago i received the Glossybox Festival Edition!
I'm sorry this post is so overdue!

I absolutely adore this box, it's filled with so many festival essentials, and really got me in the summery mood.

I've only ever been to one festival, due to my health i haven't been able to go to another! But i loved the experience.. However i was lacking in life-saving beauty products!

The face wipes come in so handy to keep refreshed, wether it's quickly taking off your makeup before bed, or a quick wipe in the morning, it helps they are great for sensitive skin too.
I used these this weekend as i was admitted into hospital over night for a few tests, it's horrible feeling all groggy and sweaty but not having the energy to walk to the bathroom to wash my face, so these were perfect!!
Just as they would be at a festival, who has the time to wash your face while you're in the middle of singing and dancing to your fave band?!

The temporary tattoos are so cute, and such a great idea! I can't wait to use them over the summer.

I haven't used the Reviving Facial Mist yet, but it's suitable for all skin types, and perfect to keep your makeup looking fab, and also if you just need a little cool down.

The cellulite lotion i'm looking forward to trying, but cellulite or not, we shouldn't have to cover up this summer and hide our legs! Flaunt what you've got :)

And last but not least, the essence gel nail polish in a gorgeous bright red, which i'll be writing about in a separate post!

What did you get in your Festival Glossybox?
